At SAFECO Environmental, Inc., we believe that people are our number one resource. That’s why we put such a priority on safety. Safety is given primary importance in planning and operating all company activities. Accordingly, it is company policy to place safety and health on an equal basis with quality, productivity, and costs of providing services.

Training programs at a minimum include asbestos, lead, hazardous waste operations (HAZWOPER), confined space, confined space rescue, powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, lockout/tagout, fall protection, scaffold erection, excavation, and OSHA 10 and 30-hour for Construction. Re-certification and new training are constantly ongoing.

In December 2021, the City of Zanesville awarded Safeco Environmental, Inc. the cleanup of a 29-acre brownfield at 2200 Linden Avenue, which had been abandoned for over five years. The site was filled with debris, asbestos, and over 16,000 cubic yards of materials requiring safe disposal. This project, one of the city’s most significant in 50 years, transformed a once-neglected space that thousands passed daily.
